Four Directions
Smudge Spray- Water, Cedarwood Leaf and Bark (North), Tobacco Leaf (East), Sweet Grass (South), White Grandfather Sage Leaf and Stem (West), Vodka 2 oz.
Four Directions Smudge Spray is a smoke-free ritual spray inspired by Indigenous teachings that honor the Four Sacred Directions and the plant allies traditionally associated with each one. This offering is crafted as a respectful way to acknowledge balance, prayer and relationship to land, elements and spirit, inviting intention, grounding and clarity into a space through mindful use.
Cedarwood leaf and bark, associated here with the North, have been traditionally honored in many Indigenous cultures as a plant of protection, grounding and ancestral strength. Cedar has long been used in cleansing and blessing practices to support stability, resilience and connection to the wisdom of elders and the endurance of the land.
Tobacco leaf, representing the East, holds a deeply sacred role across many Indigenous traditions and is traditionally used as a plant of prayer, gratitude and communication with spirit. Tobacco has historically been offered to the land, ancestors and unseen helpers as a gesture of respect, intention and reciprocity, rather than for casual or recreational use.
Sweetgrass, associated with the South, has long been honored as a plant of kindness, harmony and welcome. Traditionally braided and burned in ceremony, sweetgrass is used to invite positive energies, soften spaces and carry prayers of gentleness, unity and connection.
White Grandfather Sage leaf and stem, representing the West, have been traditionally used in many Indigenous cleansing practices to clear stagnant or heavy energies and create space for renewal and reflection. Sage is often worked with to support purification, release and the setting of clear intention when approached with reverence and respect.
Water serves as the primary carrier in this spray and has been honored across cultures as a living element that holds memory, intention and life force. In deep reverence, Four Directions Smudge Spray offers a way to engage with these sacred plants in a modern, smoke-free form, inviting presence, balance and mindful connection while honoring the traditions from which these teachings originate.
All ingredients are either wildcrafted, organically sourced and ethically harvested or obtained with reverence and respect for the hands who gathered them, the systems that created them and the Earth who birthed them.
